Quattro Canti and San Giuseppe dei Teatini
Begin where Via Maqueda meets the Cassaro. Take in the four façades framing the square, then pause at the church of San Giuseppe dei Teatini.
Start at Quattro Canti and follow the squares of the historic centre to the stalls of Ballarò. Then head back towards Piazza San Domenico to reach Vucciria. Leave time for churches, courtyards and a market stop.
Organised excursions are available exclusively to guests who book a stay with Palermo Mare Holidays.

Begin where Via Maqueda meets the Cassaro. Take in the four façades framing the square, then pause at the church of San Giuseppe dei Teatini.
Walk around the square to see its fountain and sculptures from different angles. Palazzo Pretorio overlooks the square, just a short walk from Quattro Canti.
Pause at the Martorana and Santa Caterina. If you want to visit the interiors or stop at the monastery, check access arrangements for the day.
Continue to the Church of the Gesù, known as Casa Professa, then explore the lanes of Ballarò. Leave time to browse the stalls and try something along the way.
From Ballarò, head back towards Via Roma and Piazza San Domenico. The church and square are useful landmarks before you enter the lanes of Vucciria.
Explore the streets around Piazza Caracciolo and find a spot to pause. The neighbourhood changes pace through the day, so a daytime walk and an evening stop offer different experiences.
